Welcome to Webcasters Syndicate
Latest bits

wslogo bigThe 'Shows for syndication' has been updated, please check to be sure your shows are correct

We have decided to drop the Player popup in preference to an 'Onsite' player.

Not all of your stations are in there because your profiles reflect website listen links rather than Link URL's. To update these edit your profiles and put the link I would need to grab your stream and run it via SAM or anotherbroadcasting software.

We still need to add the links to WS on your sites as You want this to work as much as we do. So use the pic below and to the left these are PNG's so should be ok on any background.

wsbannersmall

Use this code:

<a href="http://www.webcasterssyndicate.com"><img src="/http://www.webcasterssyndicate.com/images/wsbannersml.png" border="0" /></a>

OR

<a href="http://www.webcasterssyndicate.com"><img src="/http://www.webcasterssyndicate.com/images/wslogo.png" border="0" /></a>

Having the logo on your site is only one way to promote this idea you will mosly be members of other Broadcasting and Media forums, spread the word there also. Don't be scared to put it absolutely everywhere as Google will pick up an every lin, this will push us up the 'Natural Listings' and drive new members here.

We also want advertisers. Not pay per clicks but real permanant advertisers we will be cheep as all we want to pay for is this webhost and hopefully in the future a dedicated WS Shoutcast server for you to run your syndicated shows through and to be able to pick them up from there

Our 1st Jingle / Promo for you to use on your syndicated shows has been posted in the forum and can be downloaded from there or below. If you want sound effects or backing track PM either HoGG or BarryC.

Or have a go yourself . What we're looking for is something like this BUT let you imagination run wild.

"This show is being broadcast worldwide via Webcasters Syndicate.com"
&
"This station is a proud member of Webcasters Syndicate.com"
&
"Oh my God I've been syndicated ............. Webcasters Syndicate.com"
Tecknogeek Has an offering for us wsjingles

If you have any ideas on how we can get more members or how we can get our present members to get more involved feel free to PM or email or post it on the forum No idea will be thrown out without due consideration.

Remember we are not here solely to Syndicate Live shows but also to help each other. I would say we have a massive skill set between us so use it drop in the WSChat as well and say hi.

Vic Chesnutt dies following suspected overdose PDF Print E-mail
Vic ChesnuttVic Chesnutt has died of a suspected overdose in his home county of Athens, Georgia, his record label Constellation Records have confirmed. He was 45.

The songwriter, who has worked with REM's Michael Stipe, passed away on December 25. He had been in a coma that was the result of an overdose of muscle relaxers, taken earlier this week, reports the New York Times.

Chesnutt had a history of suicide attempts, recently telling NPR radio station he had "attempted suicide three or four times" but that "it didn't take". Left in a wheelchair after a car accident when he was 18, Chesnutt released 16 albums in total, with 'At the Cut' and 'Skitter On Take-Off' both coming out in 2009. Acts including Madonna, Sparklehorse, The Smashing Pumpkins and REM covered his songs on 1996 tribute album 'Sweet Relief II: Gravity Of The Situation'.

Throwing Muses member Kristin Hersh (who was also a long-term collaborator with Chesnutt), Tweeted that he appeared to have left a suicide note before slipping into the coma.

Hersh wrote: "This time, it's real scary: This time, he left a note, this time, he asked them to call me."

She has also has set up a donation account to help Chesnutt's family, at Kristinhersh.cashmusic.org.

REM's Stipe, who produced two albums by Chesnutt, paid tribute to him in a radio interview with NPR.

"He was able to bring levity to very dark emotions and feelings, and he had a humour that was really quite unusual," Stipe said. "I said recently that I thought he was one of our greatest songwriters, and one of our greatest voices."

A further post from Stipe on REMhq.com said simply: "We have lost one of our great ones."

Chesnutt is survived by his wife, Tina Whatley Chesnutt; a sister, Lorinda Crane; and nine nieces and nephews. A memorial for the singer is taking place today (December 27) in Athens.

Amy Winehouse collapses at home

Amy Winehouse is being treated for nervous exhaustion after she collapsed at home.

The troubled 'Back to Black’ singer was treated at home by a doctor over the Christmas period as a chest infection coupled with the stress of her recent arrest on suspicion of assault both took their toll.

A source close to Amy, 26, told the Daily Mirror newspaper: 'She’s been told to keep a low profile and fully recuperate. She has been feeling very ill of late and had a funny turn at home. She is quite unwell and exhausted over recent events but is soldiering on.'

The singer’s friends have been keen to stress Amy is not back on drugs and isn’t drinking heavily, although work on her comeback album will suffer setbacks as she recuperates.

The source added: 'Her new songs are amazing but will be on the back burner until she feels better.'

Amy’s recent arrest - for allegedly attacking a theatre manager at a performance of 'Cinderella’ in Milton Keynes, England, on December 19 - has led to her being charged with a public order offence and common assault.

She will appear at Milton Keynes Magistrates Court to answer to the charges on January 20.

The source said: 'The last week has been a massive setback for Amy, who was really turning a corner. Everyone in her camp is shocked by what has happened.

'The New Year doesn’t look set to get off to a good start, but Amy is determined and she’ll keep looking forward.'
