We have decided to drop the Player popup in preference to an 'Onsite' player.

Not all of your stations are in there because your profiles reflect website listen links rather than Link URL's. To update these edit your profiles and put the link I would need to grab your stream and run it via SAM or anotherbroadcasting software.

We still need to add the links to WS on your sites as You want this to work as much as we do. So use the pic below and to the left these are PNG's so should be ok on any background.

Having the logo on your site is only one way to promote this idea you will mosly be members of other Broadcasting and Media forums, spread the word there also. Don't be scared to put it absolutely everywhere as Google will pick up an every lin, this will push us up the 'Natural Listings' and drive new members here.
 

 


We also want advertisers. Not pay per clicks but real permanant advertisers we will be cheep as all we want to pay for is this webhost and hopefully in the future a dedicated WS Shoutcast server for you to run your syndicated shows through and to be able to pick them up from there

Our 1st Jingle / Promo for you to use on your syndicated shows has been posted in the forum and can be downloaded from there or below. If you want sound effects or backing track PM either HoGG or BarryC.

Carly Simon reveals `You`re So Vain` inspiration
Carly SimonThe mystery surrounding the subject of the classic Carly Simon song `You`re So Vain` has finally been revealed.

Carly Simon has ended a 38-year guessing game by revealing that the song was about the one-time head of her record label David Geffen.

The revelation is made in the new recording of 'You’re So Vain’ from her 'Never Been Gone’ album due out this week.

'Never Been Gone’ features new acoustic versions of her old hits including 'You’re So Vain’. When you play the song backwards, the name David is repeated over an instrumental piece.

While she doesn’t actually say 'Geffen’ in the song, it has been assumed that he is the subject. Rumours at the time named Geffen as a contender along with Mick Jagger (who sang backing vocals on the original), Cat Stevens, Warren Beatty and Kris Kristofferson.

The news will come as a shock to Warren Beatty who has often said in interviews that the song was about him. He even thanked Carly for it. He was so vain he probably did the song was about him, but it wasn’t.

At the time Simon was having arguments with Geffen who was spending most of his energy promoting his other act Joni Mitchell and not her.

So now where does this leave Dick Ebersol of NBC. In 2003, Ebersol was the highest bidder for the secret. He bid $50,000 for Carly to tell him personally who the song was about. As part of the auction Ebersol had to promise to take the secret to his grave.

HeavyAsHell.com announces its public launch on March 1, 2010. The site will fill a gap in the social news community for fans of rock, metal, punk and other guitar-based genres.

HeavyAsHell aggregates the best stories about 'heavy' music from around the web. It sprung from the negative experiences founder Mark Carras had with other news aggregators that buried or denied stories about harder genres, literally shutting out fans, journalists and bands from the benefits of social news. While the site will provide a haven for certain types of music, says Mark, 'Heavy is in the ear of the beholder. Johnny Cash covering NIN’s 'Hurt' is heavy.'

There are two registration levels at HeavyAsHell. Bands register an account with basic information to create a page that will catalogue all its news. Everyone else – fans, writers, bloggers, site runners, labels, publicists – register as users. Users are essentially site editors. Users can submit news, reviews, videos and photo links that they find on the web. They can comment on content, and can vote on posts which in turn will position the story higher on the site. These various activities accumulate 'sins' (points). There will be benefits to being an active sinner.

Starting March 1, HeavyAsHell will be giving away more than $10,000 in prizes to the top registered users. Each week, the top user will win $1000 while the second place user gets $500 and the third place $250. Additional prizes will be provided by Nuclear Blast America, Prosthetic Records, Rock Ridge Records, the band Mongrel and others. Users will be ranked automatically by their submissions, comments and voting activity. Full Rules and Conditions will be posted on the site at www.heavyashell.com/contest.
